The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Greater Danbury Area.

Showers and thunderstorms will be the in the area today as a cold front moves in tonight which could be strong to severe with damaging winds. Because of the rain from yesterday, flash flooding is also a possibility.

A flood warning has been issued for the Still River in Brookfield and will remain in effect until further notice.

A cold front will approach and move through the area today and tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will develop out ahead of the front. Some of the storms may become strong to severe. The main threat with these storms will be damaging winds. SPC has placed the area in a slight risk for severe storms. Additionally, flash flooding will be possible today. Flash flood guidance is 0.25"/hr or less in portions of the area that received heavy rainfall from yesterday. With thunderstorms expected today, flash flood guidance may be exceeded. - National Weather Service

 

Today - showers and thunderstorms will move in after 3pm and could bring gusty winds and heavy rain with them. High 78

Tonight - Showers and thunderstorms continue with a low of 55

Tomorrow - a much better day with sunshine and a high of 67

Friday - Cloudy, maybe a shower, high near 65

We will get a reward for all of this rain after Friday. The weekend looks really good with sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday, highs around 68 and lows near 50.
