It's not a done deal yet, but there's a 150-acre industrial park that straddles Waterbury and Naugatuck selected and approved for a  mammoth new Amazon warehouse and distribution center, according to hartfordbusiness.com.

There is a massive amount of work to be done, plus state and local officials will need to sign off on the project, and the public will be allowed to voice their concerns and opinions. However, should this project become a reality, upwards of 1,000 jobs could become available.

There is a job posted on Indeed.com that is offering up to $17.75 an hour for Amazon Warehouse Assistants. In addition, Blue Water Property Group, a Pennsylvania investment and development company, has been chosen to help coordinate a plan to remake the Waterbury/Naugatuck Industrial Park into a distribution facility.

Many government officials in Connecticut, including Governor Lamont, are 100% behind the massive project. Lamont told the Hartford Courant that the project, "has tremendous upside for Waterbury, Naugatuck, and residents throughout the region."
