A former Hudson Valley college student-athlete was among the many injured during Tuesday’s deadly Belgium terrorist attacks.

According to his former professional team in Belgium, 37-year-old Sebastien Bellin, who played collegiality at Marist, was injured in the deadly terrorist attacks Tuesday in Brussels.

Multiple explosions rocked a Brussels airport and subway system Tuesday morning. As of this writing at least 31 people are reported dead. Over 200 are reported injured. ISIS is claiming responsibility.

(WARNING) A graphic photo tweeted by his former team, BC Telenet Oostende, shows Bellin on the ground bleeding from his leg after the attacks.

A later tweet from the team revealed that Bellin was so close to the blast at the Brussels airport that he was thrown over 65 feet. The tweet also said Bellin underwent surgery but still has shards in his leg and hip.

Bellin played two seasons at Marist from 1996-1998 before transferring to Oakland University.

Greg Kampe, Bellin's college coach at Oakland, tweeted that his former player was undergoing a second surgery.

Marist officials tell Hudson Valley Post Bellin appeared in 46 games during his two seasons as a Red Fox. On Twitter, Marist wished their former player a speedy recovery.
