It's been a rough go for book lovers in Southbury, a devastating flood took out the basement of the beautiful Southbury Public Library on Poverty Road last Fall, and the main building has yet to reopen. Heritage Village is where you have had to temporarily go as the damage is being repaired, but, as of Wednesday, June 18, there's a sparkling new destination in town.

Barnes & Noble has opened for business at 775 Main Street South in the Southbury Green shopping center. We got there around 11AM, and we wondered why we almost had the store to ourselves for the first few minutes. I'll show you why I think that was so in the photos below.

Ranking the Five Worst Parking Lots on Main Street in Watertown

Watertown has a population of just over 22,000 according to the most recent cencus, and it seems like everyone in town goes nowhere except Main Street (Rt. 63). Parking lots are always busy, and space is tight. I do not like driving through these five parking lots in particular.

Three Cities in Connecticut Desperately in Need of Trader Joe's

News broke over social media in the past 48 hours that a Trader Joe's will soon be coming to Hamden. I think the company made a good choice, but there are two other cities around the state that are just as desperate for one of their stores.
