First Frost of the Season
According to The Old Farmers Almanac, the first fall frost date for the season was supposed to be last Sunday, October 7. That means, if you haven't winterized your plants, you'd better get that going now.
This week, the temperatures will dip so close to the freezing mark that it will make you want to get your wooly socks out. The National Weather Service is predicting that we will have a rainy start to the work week. Showers on and off all day with a high of 63 and a low of 46.
The sun comes out on Tuesday but the temps go down even more. Highs expected at 56 and the low overnight of 41. Wednesday's outlook is a carbon copy of Tuesday but the low overnight drops to 34 degrees.
Fragile plants need to be brought indoors or wrapped up for the winter season soon. Time to buy some burlap, I've got a fig tree to wrap.
