A very scary scene on Bank Street in Waterbury throughout last night and deep into this morning (July 31) as crews battled a blaze at an old abandoned brass factory, which had flames reaching high into the night sky.

WTNH.com reports a portion of Bank Street was closed last night as firefighters battled the blaze. The road between West Liberty Street and Riverside Street has since been reopened, but firefighters are still trying to douse several hot spots at the site.

Emergency services received the call about the fire at 8:45 p.m., which has been quite challenging to bring under control and put out completely. Fire crews and emergency teams were trying to keep people away from the area so they could fight the massive flames from the fire and to also deal with the dangerous issue of downed electrical wires.

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. Investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire. Here's a look at some footage that shows just how intense the blaze was at one point:
