Maybe I need to get out more often. This is a first for me because I had never heard of global holiday pop-up bars until I came upon an article on liquor.com. Then, it was brought to my attention that Connecticut will host two locations this holiday season.

Suppose you're like me and not one of the cool kids. A 'Miracle Christmas Pop-Up Cocktail Bar' is defined as a Christmas-themed bar that serves holiday cocktails in a festive setting. You might say it's a holiday office party on steroids.

Two Connecticut bars will be joining in the fun this year, and they are the Highland Brass Co. in Waterbury and Riley's by the Seawall in Stratford. Festivities kick off tonight, November 22, at Highland and then November 23 at Riley's. Both of the pop-ups run through the holiday season. According to a press release, the pop-ups promise "boughs of holly, twinkling lights, vintage garlands, ribbons, tchotchkes, and more."

What an outstanding idea! In a nutshell, participating bars use top-shelf booze to mix specially named cocktails. My fav is the "Elfing Around" comprised of mulled wine reduction, prosecco, gin, grapefruit shrub, aromatic and orange bitters.
