Now that Rocky over is Westport was rescued from having his head stuck in a peanut butter jar, some more raccoon-related news has surfaced out of Bethel, CT.

According to the CT Post, a Bethel woman spotted what she initially thought could've been a deer in her backyard on Sunday (June 23) but in fact, turned out to be an extremely rare sun-kissed colored raccoon.

The local woman, Sherri Hill, claimed “it walked like a raccoon, is shaped like a raccoon, but it looks nothing like a raccoon — it’s blonde.” Sherri then reportedly took to Facebook to solve the mystery, where the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) cracked the case.

Sadly, the raccoon didn't simply spend too much time bathing in the sun. The raccoon has leucism, which Mother Nature Network defines as "a partial loss of pigmentation, which can make the animal have white or patchily colored skin, hair, feathers and so on, but the pigment cells in the eyes are not affected by the condition," making it different from albinism.

The DEEP stated "although rare, leucism has been reported in CT in a variety of animals, such as squirrels, turkey vultures, snakes, songbirds, waterfowl, and, in a few occasions, red-tailed hawks -- and now a raccoon!"

So, Mr or Ms. Golden-Raccoon, don't get sad about being a little different -- you're special, possibly the first ever in CT. Just look at this little guy, he's just like you. Not only is he looking great eating his grapes, but he's doing it with a bib-tie on!

Here he is again, eating some cherries:

So keep on being sun-kissed little raccoon, we're all rooting for you.
