In a statement from Michael Hayhurst, Vice President of Eversource Electric System Operations, the utility company is thanking residents and emergency crews for coming together as a community.

A letter posted on the Eversource website states that while New Englanders are no strangers to harsh weather, the team effort involved in pulling together as a community during the aftermath of the storms which ravaged our area last week has been quite impressive. Hayhurst goes on to express gratitude to all that opened up their homes to make their neighbors comfortable during this extreme weather emergency which resulted in extensive damage and prolonged power outages.

We know there are customers in our communities who lost much more than power. During this very difficult time, our thoughts are with every person and family working to recover from this historic devastation. -Michael Hayhurst, Vice President of Eversource Electric System Operations

According to Eversource.com, power has been restored to all but 17 residents.
