Dietitian Susie Burrell says eating the banana peel can help you lose weight, sleep better and have better skin.

According to Fox News, Burrell says, “Specifically, you will increase your overall fiber content by at least ten percent as a lot of dietary fiber can be found in the skin of the banana. You will get almost 20 percent more vitamin B6 and almost 20 percent more vitamin C and you will boost both your potassium and magnesium intake."

She does not believe you should just start chowing down on the peel, rather she suggests adding it to smoothies or baked goods. Cooking the peel apparently breaks down the cells and makes nutrient absorption easier.

It's all about fiber, potassium, blah, blah, blah. I love it, but I am not in love with her suggestion that you cook it. I much prefer just eating the peel raw, at work, in front of everyone. Just take this thing all the way to crazy town and never explain yourself. If someone asks why you are eating banana peels, you just tell them, "because I am hungry."

This simple display, paired with a refusal to explain yourself will make your co-workers think you are bananas. No one is ever going to mess with you again, ever. Would you mess with someone that chokes down raw banana peels while maintaining uncomfortable, sustained eye contact? This is my banana suggestion and if health benefits come along with it, great, it's just an added bonus.
