A downed primary power line accompanied by a fire caused a bit of chaos in the Hat City.

According to Mayor Mark Boughton, the Danbury Fire Department sprung into action on Friday morning (February 7) when the active fallen line caused a fire in the area of Main Street and Wooster Street at Elmwood Park.

With the help of the Danbury Police Department, that particular area of Main Street was closed down in a hurry, with traffic being diverted to the area of Deer Hill Avenue and Wooster Street.

Obviously, the downed line caused some extensive power outages in the area, and Eversource crews are currently working to get both the line and electricity restored.

The DFD warns that for the time being, residents should expect traffic delays when approaching the area.

This is a developing story and we'll be sure to keep you updated as more information rolls in.
