This is something that I come across on the daily. If you don't love New York, you hate it. New York is home to multiple sports teams, so I guess that makes our pool even larger. Even though we usually dislike the opposing New York fan base (Mets vs Yankees, Giants vs Jets, Rangers vs Islander, Knicks vs Nets), we still have more options to choose from.

Being from Connecticut, there is that fine line drawn about whether you like New York sports teams or Boston sports teams. I'm very happy I grew up loving New York teams because I feel like the atmosphere, fan bases and teams are better (obviously a biased opinion). I've always heard from other teams and fan bases how much everyone else hates New York sports, but I really feel like it's being highlighted on a new level lately.

With both the Mets and Yankees making it into the playoffs and the Yankees making it into the World Series, it's been at the center of my feeds just how much the rest of the world hates New York. Not only are people bashing on the teams, but the people rooting for them as well. Now, does New York have some insane fans? Absolutely. I feel New York sports are full of diehard fans and with that comes crazy people as well.

After the game last night and the New York fan ripping the ball out of the glove of Mookie Betts, the internet exploded with hate for New York. As I was scrolling my X (formerly Twitter) feed, there were multiple comments about how this was "typical New York" and they're not surprised this was the fan base to do that. I also came across a tweet that spoke about a few crappy things happening out of the New York fan base.

He followed this tweet up by saying, "fans of the 29 other teams wouldn't stoop this low." Now like I said, New York is full of die-hard fans and I think that's a part of what makes playing for that city so great. But if I had to pick one city that had the most hated fan bases?

I'm curious as to what you think. What city has the most hated fan base in sports?
