Now, I know it's been hot and dry for the last few weeks, and we really haven't gotten that much rain — lawns are turning brown, everything's dried out thanks to a slew of ninety degree days. Well, if you somehow haven't noticed, that's all about to change.

Hopefully, you're not taking this week off and expecting to work on your tan, that's been put on hold in favor of wet weather, now through at least the weekend.

So just what's causing this influx of precipitation? Blame it on a Tropical air mass that's going stay in control for just about the entire week. I talked to our staff meteorologist Bill Jacquemin and here's all you need to know about this weeks wet weather:

We are under the influence of a Bermuda high, so basically, we're getting what the folks in Florida get every single day. This is nothing a-typical here, just tropical moisture that's going to bring us rain off and on for most of the week.

The rain may not be all that beneficial since there will be some sun mixed in too, though since it's tropical air some of the rain may be heavy at times.

There's a strong southerly wind flow from the Caribbean all the way to Maine that's building back out of the Atlantic towards us, and that's why we're getting the extremely humid conditions and deep moisture. Good news is that things should start to clear up for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, this is what the current system looks like:
