Developer Proposes 31 Acre WestConn Park for Danbury’s West Side
The blueprints for the most extensive development in Danbury's history are being drawn up for a 31-acre parcel on Mill Plain Road. It would be named "WestConn Park" and extends from Stop & Shop heading south to Amity Lane.
This proposed development is far from being a done deal. The 1.3 million square foot project, according to CT Post, would include 11 buildings which would consist of a bank, restaurant, coffee house, and retail shops along the well-traveled Mill Plain Road.

Danbury developer Albert Salome is the man behind this ambitious project which must clear multiple hurdles before it becomes a reality. Salome also plans for apartments, offices, stores, and an assisted-living facility on 31 acres.
If I'm not mistaken, isn't Mill Plain Road a heavily traveled route that could make for a nightmarish commute? The first public hearing by Danbury's Planning Commission will focus on traffic flow.
Mill Plain Road has turned into Danbury's hot spot with over 15 unique eateries and three hotels. In addition, construction is underway for a 45,000-square-foot Caraluzzi's Market and liquor store.
Danbury's deputy planning director, Jennifer Emminger, has raised two-dozen issues which she's presented to the developer, including safety during inclement weather, sidewalks, snow removal, blasting, retaining walls, and the list goes on.
