Already??

I'm not sure I'm ready for cold weather. Fall weather I can totally deal with. I've been sleeping with my window open to that nice crisp 55 degrees and it's been great. We're at the point where it's beautiful during the day with that bit of chill at night and it's perfect.

It feels weird talking about frost when it's 70 degrees outside, but the beautiful weather got me thinking, when are those temps going to dip and we see frost outside? I don't want to rush it because mentally I'm not there yet, but I feel like it comes at us quicker than we want it to.

The National Gardening Association put out charts with probabilities of when we will start seeing a dip in temps that can leave frost on our cars when we step outside in the morning. When I saw the estimated date for Danbury, I was surprised. It was sooner than I thought and man I am not ready.

Here's some information I found. We have a 50% chance of being hit with a 32 degree frost starting around October 9 and an 80% chance of seeing 32 degrees by October 17. October 9 is next week! I am not ready. An 80% chance by October 17? Ah!

I know it's normal for it to start getting cooler especially once October hits, but I'm still in late summer / early fall mode. I'm not ready for winter mode until daylight savings. I associate the dark early evenings with winter. Just for a note, daylight savings is taking place on November 3.

What do you think? Are you ready for the cold or do you want a few more months of fall weather? I may be biased because fall is my favorite season.
