The program will consist of an 18 X 36 double sided banner with a photo of a specific Danbury service member, which will be hung along White Street in downtown. Each banner will have a different Veteran, whether they are a current or past resident of Danbury, his or her name, rank, branch and era of service, years of service, photo and donor information.

The banners will be placed on city-owned lamp posts along White Street between Holley Lane and 5th Avenue. The banners will be displayed annually between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. After Veterans Day, the banners will be removed and placed in storage with the option to be hung up again the following year, or you can request to have them for yourself.

According to Danbury Mayor Joe Cavo, "The Hometown Heroes Banner program is such a powerful way to honor our local veterans here in Danbury. This visual provides our community with an opportunity to see the names and faces of the brave men and women who fought for our freedoms, and pay tribute to them for their service and sacrifice. I couldn't be more proud to host this program on our city, and hope you will consider supporting these efforts."

There is a cost associated with each banner. It will be $160 with a reduced price to re-hang the banner the following year. You must fill out an application on danburyhometownheroes.org by March 31, 2022. There are only 42 display locations along White Street and applications will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
