My head is swimming. I don't know where to begin, I need to settle down.

This moose phenomenon has taken over Danbury, and the surrounding areas. The new images I'm about to show you are the prequel I guess. You see, the pics below were actually taken before the moose first went viral on social. Most of the community saw this moose for the first time in my article on Monday, or I-95's Instagram video below.

My friend Jack Drake tipped me off to the video. Jack is a REAL Meteorologist and an Independent journalist. He first shared it on his Facebook page Danbury Weather and then sent it to me, and I got my article out as fast as possible, certainly faster than any of the traditional media folks in our area. Thanks Jack, I love saying that!

Next was a flood of different articles about it, and many more sightings. One sighting happened in Pawling, NY and I did an article about that. While I was writing that, I ran across the pictures you're about to see.

Danbury Resident Has Astonishing Close Encounter With Famous Moose

His name is Daryl Pitman, and he's a Danbury resident who recently had a super-close encounter with a moose that has become famous in the Greater-Danbury area. In the past few days this moose has been seen in multiple Danbury locations, it's been seen in Newtown, New Fairfield, Woodbury and even Pawling, NY to name a few.

I saw Daryl's pictures in a different moose related thread and reached out to him. I asked him to tell me more. I wanted to know if these photos were real? Did he take the pictures? Was this in Danbury? When was this? How did he feel. An excited Daryl got back to me with the following responses.

I appreciate Daryl for helping me spread the word about his encounter. Remember, officials and animal experts are pleading with the public to keep your distance if you run into this moose, any encounter could turn dangerous for you, or the moose, or both.

Daryl didn't have a whole lot of choice in the matter, in my opinion. One minute he was winterizing his backyard, and the next, BAM! Face full of moose. I'm told the moose everyone is seeing, is likely the same moose, moving around and looking for a mate. You gotta give it to this moose, that is a lot of traveling. When I was single, I was not driving to Pawling to meet anyone, let alone walking. No offense Pawling, y'all are very attractive but I don't like wandering too far. I am loving this moose business.

Greater Danbury Bobcat Sightings, Too Close for Comfort

This morning (4/28/21) on the Ethan and Lou Show we were discussing a viral video from North Carolina. In it, a couple was brutally attacked by a rabid bobcat but according to USA Today, they are going to be OK.

This sent me off on a tirade about bobcats because this happens to be one of my pet peeves. In the Greater-Danbury area, wildlife sightings are frequent and when one animal gets photographed, everyone piles on and says, yeah me too You saw a bear? I saw a bear!

I made the case that too many people are claiming to have seen bobcats recently, and with no proof. I said, look I know they are prevalent but they can't be around in the numbers that people will have you believe. Every Frank and Fran in the area says they saw one yesterday.

I said, if you saw a bobcat, prove it. It looks like I may have been underestimating the bobcats and the Ethan and Lou listeners because they did prove it and in a hurry. These are the Greater-Danbury Bobcat Sightings That are Too Close for Comfort.

Vacant Putnam Lake Properties

Putnam Lake is a Hamlet of the Town of Patterson In Putnam County, NY. Originally, the community was a vacation getaway for city folks who wanted Lake property in the country. Today, it’s not any kind of weekend or destination getaway but a great place to live, I would know, I grew up there. Like any small town, Putnam Lake, NY has its setbacks. It’s difficult to open any business and even harder to keep the doors open. These are some of the long vacant commercial properties of “The Lake.”
