
Danbury Man Charged After a Shooting on Chestnut Street
A Danbury man has been arrested after allegedly shooting an unidentified adult male in his leg.
According to a press release from Det. Lt. Carroccio of the Danbury Police Department, Danbury officers responded to the Danbury Hospital Emergency Room on February 24 around 3:00 PM to investigate a reported gunshot victim. After interviewing the victim, detectives were able to establish a suspect.
After an investigation and obtaining an arrest warrant, Danbury officers brought in 19-year-old Christopher Watson of Danbury without incident at 11 AM this morning (March 20)
Watson has been charged with 1st Degree Assault, and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. He is currently being held on $75,000 bond.
Luckily, the gunshot wound that the unidentified male had suffered is reported to have been non-life threatening.
Chestnut Street is two blocks South of White Street near the very busy intersection of Wildman Street, not very far from Western Connecticut State University's main campus.
