Danbury High School Postpones Graduation Due to Storm Threats
If your son or daughter is graduating from Danbury High School, they are going to have to wait one more day for that diploma.
Danbury High School officials have postponed their graduation ceremony one day until tomorrow (June 20) due to the threat of bad weather later this afternoon.
The National Weather Service is calling for some strong storms today. They say the best chance of the storms are late Monday afternoon and during the night. Monday night is the time when rain is most likely. The storms could pack gusty winds with rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches.
The Danbury High graduation ceremony is held outside on the school's football field, so pushing it back a day, especially with the threat of heavy rains, is probably the best decision. The storms are forecast for around the same time as the graduation ceremony.
Students who have worked so hard over the last four years to get to this day will just have to wait another 24 hours to finally get their diplomas.
