With all of the hype around the Hat Tricks, we thought it would be a good time to speak to someone inside the organization so that is exactly what we did on Tuesday (3/14/23). Danbury Hat Tricks Executive/Team Partner Herm Sorcher joined us on the I-95 Morning Show to catchup on everything Hat Tricks. Here are the highlights or you can listen to the entire interview at the bottom of the page.

Why does it appear the opposing fans hate Danbury?

"It is strange, there always is this Danbury inferiority complex it seems that so many other fan bases have. They want to tee off on us all the time. I don't know if that stems from the Trashers or a Northeast bias or something, maybe it is the way we carry ourselves? I don't know but a lot of teams don't like us and I think we're a pretty solid group here. But that is OK, I think we feed off it and we thrive on it."

Do you attribute any of the negativity from opposing fans to the rowdy nature of your Section 102 fans?

"There you go. I think that probably is it. Let me tell you, that section has evolved and led to so many other good things in the Danbury Ice Arena. We've got Section 102, we've got the Animal House, we have the 208's. the 207 crew. Really, such a shout out to the people of Section 102 because they started it. Actually, the fans in New Haven Section 14 started it and that transferred up to Danbury Section 102. The things they say, and I know this group can get a bad wrap and some things are just fabricated. This is a group of fans that do the research, they know the players, they know what to say and they know how to get under skin. But they do it in a reasonably above-board, fair way. So, there is a line of what you can say but I think they stay within the lines of good fandom. You know from there you have the Animal House crew in the 200 section, these guys are basically hanging over the rail screaming at the players, screaming at the goalies. The rink is 200' X 85' so if you're saying the rink is 85 feet in width, the goal is 6' x 4' so when Ron Rogell and his crew is screaming at you, I'd say they are 38 feet away. So imagine standing 38 feet away from someone and yelling at them, they can hear you, that is the bottom line. They can hear everything you're saying. They really become part of the game because you can see, they take players off their game and the players on the ice are engaging with them."

What about Daniel Amesbury? You have a star on and off the ice?

"Daniel Amesbury is far and above, so much more than we expected. With a guy like that, there are so many more opportunities for him to hone his craft and everything. He's been in two "Rough N' Rowdy" programs already this year, he actually played pro lacrosse one game up in Binghamton, probably about a month ago. He's a fantastic guy, he's been going to all of our community appearances and I cannot say enough good things about him."

For everything Danbury, listen to the Ethan, Lou & Large Dave Show on Apple & Spotify.

Inside the Premier Party for the Danbury Trashers Netflix Documentary

My name is Lou Milano, I am the co-host of the Ethan and Lou Morning Show on I-95. Recently, I attended the local premier of the Netflix film "Untold: Crime & Penalties" about the Danbury Trashers. The Trashers were a United Hockey League team that were around for a short time in the 2000' s in Western, CT but the team and ownership left a lasting impact.

The premier was open to the public and would take place inside the building where the Trashers played hockey, the Danbury Ice Arena. I decided to watch the movie at my house before going to the event. I wanted to use the time at the arena to interview the people in the film, and give an inside look into the night. This was my night out, with the cast of the film and the Trashers.

Top 6 Reasons For an Argument on CT's Candlewood Lake

Candlewood Lake is a glorious place to be on a Saturday or Sunday during the summer. You get to look at the rolling hills, soak in the sun and relax. If relaxing is not your jam you can do some water sports or just bug-out (my favorite). Candlewood Lake is popular for a reason it's a lot of fun. However, just like any place the vibe can be ruined by certain behaviors. Some might say, what is there to argue about? Here are 6 things I've seen people argue over on Candlewood Lake.

A Tour of the Ice Arena for the Danbury Hat Tricks Victorious Weekend

This season is underway at the Danbury Ice Arena and it began in victorious fashion. I was in the Arena for Friday and Saturday's games and I experienced the entire thing for you. Once you are done checking this out, you are going to buy tickets, that is not a threat, it's just what is going to happen.

There is something for everyone inside that arena, even if you don't like hockey. There were a ton of activities to be a part of in the Arena, even if you don't like hockey. That's not my style, if I go for a game I want to watch it but all the extras don't hurt the experience one bit,
