Danbury Fire Department reported a horrible scene that unfolded in Danbury just after midnight on Thursday, September 27.

Police were called to the scene of an accident in the area of Mill Plain Road and Aunt Hack Road at about 12:20 am near Duchess Restaurant. When police arrived, they say found that two vehicles that had collided and one person was still trapped inside one of the cars.

Danbury Fire and Emergency Medical Services were also dispatched to the site of the crash and assisted in rescuing the trapped person from one of the mangled cars.

Danbury Hospital Emergency Medical Services Crew treated that person at the scene and the neighboring town of Ridgefield also sent an ambulance from their Emergency Services Team, who helped to transport two others who were also injured in the early morning crash to Danbury Hospital.

Danbury Police and Fire Departments remained on the scene until about 2:00 this morning.

According to the DPD, the preliminary investigation shows that 26-year-old Juan Antonio Pacheco of Pound Ridge, NY was traveling eastbound when his Ford F-250 crossed over the yellow lines, colliding with a Mercedes-Benz C63 that was being driven in the westbound lane by 29-year-old Catriona O'Hagan of Derry, Ireland.

The conditions of the injured have not yet been released and the Danbury PD is requesting anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Sgt Rory DeRocco or Officer Mathew Malone at 203-797-2157.
