Danbury Fair’s New Addition Has Me Thinking, When’s Dave & Buster’s Coming?
I thought we finally had one Danbury. I saw the news about Target moving into the Danbury Fair Mall a couple of weeks ago, and then the social media teases started coming out. An unnamed family-fun location was finally coming to the Danbury Fair Mall, and I thought it was going to be Dave & Buster's. Nope, I was wrong.
No, my fantasy that Time Out arcade would reappear in the food court didn't come to fruition either, but Danbury Fair Mall will be getting the first Round 1 Bowling and Amusement in Connecticut. According to westfaironline.com, the Japanese company recently signed a lease for a new location here and also in Arizona. Dave & Buster's has locations in two Connecticut shopping malls - the Post in Milford, and Buckland Hills in Manchester.
I remember the first time I went over the Tappan Zee and saw my first Dave & Buster's. It was at the Palisades Mall. Maybe it is because it's my name, and seeing DAVE in 20 foot letters is pretty cool, but I've always been a fan of that place. I grew up in arcades, Showbiz Pizza, Chuck E. Cheese, Casa Bonita and the like, and there are plenty of stand alone entertainment venues around the Danbury area, but, nothing like the combo of food and fun that D&B offered.
Round 1 looks promising, they're giving D&B come family entertainment competition. Most established Round 1 locations feature bowling alleys, arcades, pool tables, darts, arcades, and karaoke. I was expecting a D&B, but this is a welcome addition to Danbury Fair, I was getting excited that a sweet Philly French Dip was in my future, but we'll see what Round 1 serves up.
With that, do we think Dave & Buster's will ever head to our neck of the woods?
