Danbury Store Files for Bankruptcy, Set to Close Other Connecticut Locations
In what has become an all too familiar occurrence, another local store has filed for bankruptcy and will close its Danbury location inside the Danbury Fair mall.
Liquidation sales have already begun at two Vitamin World Stores — one in Trumbull and the other location in Danbury. According to newstimes.com, the once popular nutrition store gained approval of its filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Nov. 21, and are currently moving forward with plans to close 122 stores nationwide.
CEO Michael Madden released an official statement saying that the chain will continue to operate 150 of there other stores and that they have no plans of going out of business.
This action will empower us to move forward as a stronger organization that can and will continue to service our millions of loyal customers with premium offerings via retail and online channels.
For now, the Danbury Fair store will remain open for a limited time, and will be offering some great liquidation bargains.
