If you're traveling on the west side of Danbury in the coming weeks, you may be subject to some delays.

According to the City of Danbury's website, the Public Works Department began road construction yesterday (July 6) on parts of a neighborhood in the northwest section of the city, which is outlined in the map above. The roads that were specifically named were Heritage Drive, Centennial Drive, Richter Drive, Linda Drive, and Jarrod Drive.

Danbury officials say that while the construction will most likely not require any roadways to be closed, drivers should be prepared for the possibility of travel restrictions.

The construction project is expected to last for around five to six weeks, and during that time, on-street parking in not permitted on the streets mentioned above.

If residents have any questions about the construction project or the areas of Danbury that will be affected, they are encouraged to call the Danbury Department of Public Works at 203-797-4605.
