No matter what side of the coin you're on, the political climate in this country is volatile.

Case in point, the other day, when Ivanka Trump made a surprise visit to a Connecticut school, the parents went ballistic. Some, who oppose President Trump’s agenda, actually pulled their kids from classes.

It happened Monday (December 18) when Ivanka appeared at the Norwalk Early College Academy to talk to its students about the importance of career education.

So here's where the problem came into play: Parents said they didn’t know that Ivanka Trump was scheduled to speak to their kids, information they suspect was probably withheld due to security concerns.

One parent, Kelly Fitzgerald, commented to News 12 about why she was so upset"

This should have been brought to our attention, although I do understand security reasons. I think we should have had the choice to send our child to school or keep them home.

Not all parents were upset. Some thought it was a great opportunity for their kids. According to dailynews.com, Angela Yaneth Guzman replied to a photo from Trump's visit on Facebook, and thanked her for speaking to her son:

My son, Nicolas Guzman, is a NECA student and you talked to him today and he's so excited about it. It's something He will never forget. Thank you, Ivanka.

Students who attend the Norwalk Early College Academy earn a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree in software engineering in four years.
