It's been a long time since we've seen any kind of live events here in Connecticut. The last concerts that I remember happening were right before St. Patty's Day in March. As we've seen, every type of business has had to adapt to ensure our safety before they can resume operations. Live event venues and performers are adapting too. We're just now getting the first announcements of performers and approved venues post-coronavirus. Manic Presents/Premiere Concerts just announced a couple of socially-distanced upcoming events at cool venue that I never knew about.

The first show announced is a concert by Vermont rocker, Grace Potter, on Saturday August 22, 2020. The second is a comedy show from stand up comedian, Nikki Glaser, on Sunday August 30, 2020. In the fine print of the announcement, the promoters outline the safety guidelines which include: Guests will undergo a temperature check and fill out a questionnaire in the parking lot, masks are mandatory while entering, exiting or traveling through the venue, but not when you are in your "Guest Grid". Yep, your "seat" is now a "Guest Grid", which is an 8 foot by 8 foot painted square. Each square will be occupied by two people. Then, you can bring your own chair, blanket, or towel to sit on. The events are rain or shine.

South Farms is located at 21 Higbie Road in Morris. It's right near the intersection of Rt. 63 and Rt. 109, in the vicinity of Bantam Lake. It looks like a beautiful venue overall, and well-equipped with the most precious commodity you need to put on events now: open air.
