Country Star Gretchen Wilson Arrested at Connecticut Airport
Country singer Gretchen Wilson, part of the Big and Rich Country Mafia and famed for her 2004 songs, “Redneck Woman,” “Here for the Party,” “When I Think About Cheating” and others, was apprehended and arrested at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks last night for allegedly creating a “minor disturbance" in flight, according to a Connecticut State Police report.
Connecticut State troopers were poised to make the arrest as the aircraft landed just after 7 p.m. The police report states that they were:
Dispatched to a minor disturbance on an incoming flight. While interviewing the accused on the jetway she became belligerent towards the Troopers and caused a disturbance. The accused was ultimately taken into custody for Breach of peace.
The 45-year-old singer has to appear in Enfield Superior Court Wednesday. She was released on $1,000 bond. There’s no word just yet on what she actually did on board the plane which prompted the call to the state police.
