Connecticut’s Latest Data on COVID Booster Shots and Children’s Vaccine
The first question is, "Is a COVID vaccine available for children ages 5-11?" Unfortunately, the answer is no, BUT, according to Pfizer-BioNTech, initial data has been submitted to the FDA to ensure their vaccine is safe and effective for 5 to 11-year-olds.
Pfizer has not sent a formal request to the FDA requesting authorization to inoculate approximately 28 million children under 12-years-old. Dr. Anthony Fauci said,
“I would imagine in the next few weeks [the FDA] will examine that data and hopefully give the OK so we can start vaccinating children hopefully by the end of October.”
According to the CDC, children 12 years and older can now receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. The CDC advises that children ages 2 through 12 should wear masks in public and around people they don't live with. Vaccines for children ages 12+ are available at:

The CDC has announced that COVID-19 booster shots are now available for Connecticut state residents who are 65 and older, but only if you initially received the Pfizer vaccine. According to the CDC, booster shots are also available for anyone 18+ who have underlying medical conditions, work in high-risk settings, or who live in high-risk settings.
