
Connecticut State Police Wrap-Up 2017 With Traffic Enforcement Stats
After working extensively around the clock with increased traffic safety patrols, the Connecticut State Police have released the final results of their increased patrols throughout New Year's Weekend.
Between midnight on Thursday into Friday (December 29) and 11:59 PM on Monday (January 1), Connecticut State Troopers have issued 611 speeding violations, 20 seat belt violations, 28 DUI arrests, and 1,410 violations that are considered to be hazardous, such as cell phone use while driving, unsafe lane changes, tailgating, and failure to signal.
State troopers also investigated 494 car accidents, 54 of which had associated injuries. Out of the accidents, there were two fatalities. 55-year-old William Pollock of Ansonia passed away after a collision on Route 8 in Trumbull, while 51-year-old Devra Lee Koromanian of Glastonbury passed in a serious accident on the Putnam Bridge in Glastonbury.
