
From Lisbon to Hartford: What to Know About CT State Police’s Latest Arrests
From a fatal crash in Lisbon to a high-speed pursuit on I-95 and a stolen car case tied to firearms in Hartford, Connecticut State Police had a busy week.

Here’s a quick rundown of three unrelated arrests announced in recent press releases.
Ledyard Man
According to Connecticut State Police, a Ledyard man was arrested on April 23, 2025, in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash that allegedly occurred in Lisbon on October 14, 2024. William Stonier, (36), was reportedly taken into custody at Norwich Superior Court by Troopers from Troop E - Montville after police say an active arrest warrant had been issued. Stonier is facing charges including failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, and second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle. He was reportedly held on a $300,000 bond and was scheduled for arraignment later that day.
Bridgeport Man
According to the Connecticut State Police, a Bridgeport man was arrested on April 22, 2025, after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop in New York and crossing into Connecticut on I-95. Police say Heury Aponte, (23), was stopped in Greenwich by Troopers from Troop G and local officers after his vehicle was boxed in. According to authorities, a passenger in the car was someone Aponte was prohibited from contacting under a court-issued protective order. Aponte was reportedly charged with violating a protective order, improper use of a registration plate, and driving without a valid license. He was processed at Troop G and released on a $20,000 bond. Authorities say he is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on April 23, 2025.
East Hartford Man
According to Connecticut State Police, an East Hartford man turned himself in on April 21, 2025, in connection with a stolen vehicle crash that allegedly occurred on I-84 in Hartford on March 31, 2024. Police say Divarys Hernandez, (24), was identified through DNA evidence as the driver who reportedly fled the scene of a three-car collision. Authorities also say a vehicle search uncovered several firearms and accessories, which Hernandez was allegedly prohibited from possessing. He is facing charges including evading responsibility, larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm, and violation of large-capacity magazine laws. Hernandez was reportedly released on a $275,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Hartford Superior Court on May 9, 2025.
