If you're getting married in the great state of Connecticut, or if you've already been married here, you don't need me to tell you that it's costing you, or it already did cost you.

People have always griped that it's so expensive to get married here, and this new data from WFSB proves it. They cite the Knot's website, which lists the most expensive places to get married state by state, and we land on the list as the 8th most expensive state in the country to tie the knot. It costs almost $10,000 more than the average state to celebrate taking vows here. They also cite Wedding Wire as saying that the average price of a wedding in the Nutmeg state is $47,000.

It's no surprise that New York City is the most expensive place to host a wedding in the United States. The Knot's list takes into account everything from the cost of flowers, to the DJ the venue, photographer, officiant, and more.
