We have most of the typical ingredients of a fun family road trip in Connecticut: Amusement parks, sandy saltwater beaches, plenty of unique restaurants and cultural attractions, but why does the rest of New England get the majority of tourism dollars from the rest of the continental US? A new study from WalletHub.com has some answers.

REASONS WHY CONNECTICUT DOESN'T ATTRACT ROAD TRIPPERS

WalletHub.com's study did what the rest of us do when trying to determine which states are the best to plan a road trip towards, they compared the 50 states against each other. WalletHub compared all 50 states across 3 key dimensions: Cost, Safety, and Activities, and 32 key metrics in order to determine their rankings. Some of the metrics used to compare were Average cost and prices of gas, car repairs, hotel rooms, camping sites, cost of living, population density, violent crime rates, total area dedicated to parks, national parks, nightlife attractions, miles of highways, and good weather days.
