The definition and meaning of the word 'Trendy' is 'Very Fashionable' in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. I'll now use it in a sentence for you - "If you want to live in one of the Top 10 trendiest cities in the United States, don't move to Naugatuck."

Sorry Naugy, I still believe that you're just two entrepreneurs away from greatness, but your neighbor on the Southern end of Rt. 63 has you beat in trendy. In fact, New Haven has just been named as one of the Top 10 Trendiest Cities in America Where You Can Still Buy a Home by

Actually, New Haven made the top 5, landing at #4, right after Philly, and just before Sioux City, Iowa.'s list points to New Haven's world-class pizza, diverse international cuisine, its proximity to the ocean and its beaches (although I've never thought about jumping into Long Wharf, yuck), yoga studios, Yale University, and its $329,950 Median listing price for homes as to what's attracting hip urban folk out of Brooklyn.

New Haven comes in at #4 on the list, but I'll save you the click, here's the complete list:

  1. Savannah, Georgia
  2. New Orleans, Louisiana
  3. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  4. New Haven, Connecticut
  5. Sioux City, Iowa
  6. Albany, New York
  7. Kalamazoo, Michigan
  8. Eau Claire, Wisconsin
  9. Baltimore, Maryland
  10. Orlando, Florida (You say?)

I love New Haven. College Street Music Hall and Toad's Place are two of my favorite places to see live music, the cuisine around the city is so diverse, the food trucks along Long Wharf are incredible, and I love mingling with some of the smartest students on Earth on the Yale campus. If you love brains, coffee, the best pizza in the US, dreadlocks, soul patches, and you have $400,000, move to New Haven trend-setter.
