Connecticut and New York Could See Spring Snow This Week

Just when you thought that spring was here and in full effect, Mother Nature has other ideas -- and it's not even an April Fools joke.

We've had some really nice spring days over the last week or so -- the temperatures hit 67 degrees in Danbury on Saturday. But that's all about to change, at least for a day or so.

A cold front that moved into the area Sunday has already dropped temperatures almost 25 degrees from where they were over the weekend, and that, coupled with a front moving through, could lead to a little rain/snow mix Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The National Weather Service says the storm should draw in enough cold air to lead to a period of wet snow or mixed snow/rain. Temperatures will be just above freezing in most places; do not expect more than an inch or so of accumulation, and that snow will accumulate on mainly grassy surfaces.

The NWS hourly forecast has the best chance of a rain/snow mix Tuesday night into Wednesday morning between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

After that, the temperatures will moderate again, and spring will resume as highs on Wednesday should approach 60.
