Cody Rhodes is one of the hottest wrestlers on the planet.

He's the current Ring of Honor World Champion, the current Northeast Wrestling Champion, a six-time WWE Tag Team Champ, and a former WWE Intercontinental Champion. We got a chance to talk to him before his upcoming title defense against Ricochet at NEW's "Future of Flight" event at the PAL in Danbury tomorrow night.

He comes from good stock. Professional Wrestler, Cody Rhodes, was born into wrestling royalty. His father was the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, who was one of the most popular wrestlers in the world for years, and is in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Cody was born in Marietta, Georgia and had an outstanding High School career. He won the Georgia State tournament as a Junior, and repeated as champion his senior year. He had planned to wrestle at the Collegiate level at Penn State, but decided to become a professional wrestler instead and follow in his dad's footsteps.

After choosing to leave the WWE because he was less than enamored with how they were looking to use him creatively, Cody took a do-it-yourself approach, which in-turn has made him more popular and more successful than ever.
