Pharma Distributor to Close, Leaving Over 100 in CT Jobless

McKesson Corporation in Rocky Hill Connecticut, internationally known as a medical and pharmaceutical distributor, is closing down operations in Rocky Hill. This closure will cost the state of Connecticut approximately 105 jobs. This move will not happen all at once; it’s going to happen over a period of months, with the final phase out happening on September 2nd according to the Rocky Hill Patch.

The news first came out on June 2^nd via the Connecticut State Department of Labor. The town of Rocky Hill was notified soon afterward. The employees at the Rocky Hill location are all represented by the Teamsters Union, Local 671. According to the Hartford Courant the town is looking for another company to occupy the soon to be vacated plant.

The company was founded in New York City in 1833 and is now headquartered in San Francisco California and employs approximately 78,000 people world wide with revenue from world wide sales at 198.533 billion.
