Some towns around Connecticut are most definitely hallmark-y. As we all know, Gilmore Girls was based on a Connecticut town, and many different towns around here were used for movie sets, including some actual Hallmark movies.

When thinking of the "Hallmark" towns around Connecticut, some that come to mind are New Milford, Washington (of course) since it's based off of Star's Hollow, Mystic, Old Saybrook and one that I'm a new frequent flyer to, Middlefield. All of these towns have something special to them. A quaint charm that feels very small town with charming settings and festive vibes.

Chester, Connecticut Highlighted for 'Hallmark Movie Set' Vibe

Just recently, another Connecticut town was called out for its setting. Chester, Connecticut was recently shown off in a new Instagram video for its mini movie set-like town. In the video, many different things about this small town were called out. The unbeatable restaurants, ice cream shops, a brewery, bar and grille, and then Connecticut's first romance-only bookstore, Montgomery & Taggert Bookshop.

Looking at the video, you can see the little Hallmark vibes that Chester gives. Chester is located near Essex, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, etc. It's interesting because these towns are talked about so much, but aren't visited as often.

The Best 'Made in Litchfield County' Products I've Tried Recently

I love supporting local businesses, it's vital in 2025 to try to devote as much of our income to our friends and neighbors, if not, the wave of closures will continue. I bought four products made in Litchfield County in the past few months that really impressed me. On a National stage, I believe they are as good, if not superior, to the name brands.

The Culinary Highlights Along Route 44 Through Litchfield County

I love exploring Litchfield County since I made the move to Torrington, there are so many underrated restaurants, cafes, and bakeries that don't get the attention of someplace in Hartford, New Haven, or Danbury.
