Talk about a blind date gone bad.

Police have arrested a 17-year old Cheshire girl after she allegedly lured a 19-year-old man to her home, then beat and robbed him.

According to the Record-Journal, Audrey Bennett of Cheshire met a 19-year-old man on social media earlier this month. Police say she invited him to her house, where he was assaulted by two male accomplices. Bennett allegedly hit the man in the head with a hammer, and one of the men hit him with a baseball bat according to the police report.

After taking his wallet and demanding his ATM pin code, the suspects allegedly tied his hands, drove him to a bank, forced him to withdraw money, and proceeded to drive around to various gas stations obtaining cash back on transactions. All told, just under $1000 was taken from the man's account according to the warrant.

The man was finally able to break free in the parking lot of a Southington movie theater and obtain help. Bennett was arrested at Mid-State Medical Center, where she was taken after being found intoxicated at a mall in Meriden.

Bennett's attorney told the Record-Journal that his client was in counseling for substance abuse, and had made "bad decisions" after a day of drinking and taking pills. She's due in court on April 24.

Mental note: when meeting up with someone you've met online for the first time, going alone to their house might not be the best idea. You may want to consider a more public place, with a wingman (or wing-woman) along.
