Carrie Underwood’s Baby Boy Is Here, and He’s a Cutie!
Carrie Underwood gave birth to a baby boy on Monday, January 21. The "Love Wins" singer shared all the details of her second son's arrival alongside several sweet pictures.
Jacob Bryan Fisher joins nearly-4-year-old Isaiah Michael Fisher in the star's home with husband Mike Fisher. The couple had previously indicated a January due date and shared that they were having a second boy, but had not revealed the name.
"Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday," Underwood revealed on Instagram on Wednesday. "His mom, dad and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle! Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good."
Fans got a sense that the day was near through photos Underwood shared on Instagram over the last several weeks. In one, her son is seen resting on her belly. In another, she admits he needs to help her tie her shoes. In another, she is just letting her pregnant belly hang out.
"Yes, I'm wearing Mike's shirt," she wrote using the hashtag #LettingItAllHangOut.
At one point, the 35-year-old had said she'd like a large family, but in the last year she's amended her expectations, saying she'd be content with whatever God allows for. Not long after announcing she was pregnant Underwood revealed that she suffered three miscarriages in her journey to a healthy pregnancy. Those losses, coupled with a frightening fall at home, made for a very difficult year for Underwood in 2017 and early 2018.
Professionally, she returned to the stage at WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn., last August and then announced her new Cry Pretty album and 2019 tour. Runaway June and Maddie & Tae will join her on the Cry Pretty 360 Tour when it starts in May. Underwood admits she had to push the start of the tour to allow time for her to recuperate after welcoming her new song. Both kids will travel with her on the tour bus.
