Car Rolls Over into a Home on Residential Street in Poughkeepsie, New York

Local first responders were on the scene within minutes after a call came in of a roll over vehicle into a home in Poughkeepsie over the weekend.

Arlington Fire District Responds to Scary Car Roll Over

The Arlington Fire District was dispatched to a roll over accident over the weekend on DeGarmo Road in Poughkeepsie, New York.

According to a statement on Facebook, they were dispatched to "a reported roll over motor vehicle accident with a vehicle into a house and people trapped."

Crews arrived on the scene in 2 minutes and " found one vehicle in the front lawn of 33 DeGarmo Road with a person trapped inside the vehicle."

Advance Life Care Giving By Paramedics on The Scene

Due to the "mechanism and extent of entrapment" at the scene additional Arlington units were requested.

The fire department was able to quickly stabilize the vehicle and "deploy a hose line because of the active fuel leak and extraction required." At the scene "advance life care was started by on scene paramedics.

At the time of the accident there was only one person in the vehicle and that person was removed from the vehicle 10-minutes after first responders arrived at the scene.

They were then transferred to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. There has been no update on the patients status.

Similar Accident Involving a Car and Home Occurred in Ulster County

The Cronomer Valley Fire Department was busy over the weekend and found themselves in a similar situation as the Arlington Fire District.

According to the Cronomer Valley Fire Department a car had crashed into a house near Plattekill Ardonia Road on Sunday, April 6th, 2025.

Apparently it was 2 vehicle accident, which then caused one of the cars to crash into a home. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. However the home will need some serious repairs.
