UPDATE: Saturday's Candlewood Lake fireworks have officially been postponed. Read more here

How lucky are we in Danbury? We get two great fireworks shows every year, and the first one happens on Saturday night at Danbury Town Park.

Danbury's Independence Day celebration is this Saturday (June 29) at Danbury Town Park. The City of Danbury Police Department has issued a reminder to watch for traffic delays and road closures in the area from 5:00 PM through approximately 11:00 PM.

Of course, many people love to watch the fireworks from out on the water, so expect lots of boat traffic on the lake on Saturday night as well. For landlubbers, bring your beach chair and enjoy the show from Danbury Town Park or, if you really want to turn the party up, watch from the BBQ that Lakeside Pub is throwing.

Saturday's forecast calls for isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and mostly clear skies that night, so the weather should cooperate for a great night and a fantastic fireworks show.

The fireworks are presented by the City of Danbury and the Danbury Fire Department.

The second fireworks show is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 at the Danbury Fair Mall. More info on that show is on the way!
