Danbury/Norwalk Rail Service Suspended, Buses to Be Used Instead of Metro-North

Here's what you need to know if you ride the train on the Danbury Branch line:

Buses will be the only way to go this weekend if you normally ride the rails in the Danbury area. There's a thing called the Danbury Branch Dockyard project, and it's being implemented as part of the Walk Bridge Program, which is compiled of a series of projects that will aid in the replacement of the 121-year old movable bridge over the Norwalk River. Because of that, there will be some needed track work done this weekend on the Danbury branch line.That in turn, means that rail service between Danbury and Norwalk will be suspended this weekend.

Metro-North will be substituting train service on the Danbury branch line with buses starting Friday night Nov. 17 and continuing on Saturday Nov. 18 and Sunday Nov. 19

Buses will operate about 20 minutes earlier than scheduled trains. To view the bus schedule that will replace train service this weekend, click on mta.info/danbury and look at the yellow highlighted schedule.

Time to plan accordingly for this disruption in service.
