In the latest effort to practice social distancing and to avoid the spread of COVID-19, Brookfield has shut down the popular Still River Greenway and also their town hall.

Officials have learned that there was a positive coronavirus test result at the town hall, so the building will be closed for cleaning all weekend, and a decision will be made if it can re-open by Monday.

Meanwhile, the popular Still River Greenway is now closed as well after the number of COVID-19 cases in Brookfield jumped to 24. Brookfield's rate of infection, based on population, is now one of the highest in the state.

Brookfield First Selectman Steve Dunn released a message on Facebook late Thursday explaining what was going on.
