Body Missing From Connecticut Cemetery Has Been Found

Imagine visiting a loved one's grave for 13 years only to find out his body had disappeared.

WTNH originally broke the story of George Johnson who passed away in 2006 and was interred in Hamden Plains Cemetery. Recently, his family discovered his headstone had been moved and his body was nowhere to be found.

A thorough investigation was reportedly launched by the cemetery and the good news is that they located Johnson's body on the grounds of Hamden Plains, according to wtnh.com. Unfortunately, the bad news is that cemetery gravediggers had to dig up five graves before they located Johnson's remains.

When personnel from Hamden Plains Cemetery were asked about why Johnson's body was discovered in a different location, they attributed it to sloppy record-keeping by previous grave handlers.
