Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a body that was reportedly found floating in the Naugatuck River.

According to multiple reports including NBC Connecticut and Fox 61, members from both the Torrington Police Department and the Connecticut State Police Dive Team are on the scene.

Police say the deceased body was recovered from a section of the Naugatuck River that runs through Torrington in the area of Riverside Avenue. Officials are unsure of how long the body, which is believed to be that of a male in his 30s, has been in the river.
