Bitcoin Kiosk Installed in Danbury, Expert Says Get Used It

Sunday morning I took a ride out to get my coffee at the Citgo gas station near my house.

When I walked in, I saw something brand new, right next to the Good Humor Ice Cream case, a Bitcoin machine. I watched as a young man tried to make heads or tails of it, he was making a transaction of some sort.

I know that Bitcoin is a form of digital currency and I know people swear by its growth. . That is the limit of my knowledge on the matter so I called an expert, Jordan Goodman.

Jordan is a friend and acts as our financial correspondent. I asked him a few questions regarding the matter.

NOTE: I kept saying I saw the Bitcoin kiosk at 7/11. It was not 7/11, it was the Citgo on the South end of Main Street (seen below).

These are some of the questions Jordan answered for us:

What are these machine about? What can they do?

"Well, you would load a wallet (digital wallet). One Bitcoin is $60,000 but you can get it in much smaller denominations. I know you Lou, you normally like to get them one at a time but you can get them in much smaller denominations But, for most people they would actually get them in smaller pieces. Then you can load a wallet and you can start doing transactions in Bitcoin these days. You can buy things on Ebay and do PayPal transactions and there's just all kinds of things, it's going to become more and more common that you can actually buy and sell things in Bitcoin."

So, I'm actually going to the machine and purchasing Bitcoin?

"Think of it as an ATM. Right? Where you have a debit card and you can move things around, and you can download cash, you just cannot download a physical Bit-Coin that you can hold in your hand, it doesn't work that way. But, it's an electronic one and you would have an electronic wallet and you would put in cash or do a transfer from your checking account and out comes Bitcoins onto your electronic wallet and then you can spend it wherever they will accept it."

So, It's like NFT's (Non-Fungible Tokens)?

"So, it's like NFT's or Non-Fungible Tokens which is a really hot area, I think there should be an Ethan and Lou NFT."

Is this the future?

"This is the present and the future, yes these are popping up all over the place. People want their transactions in Bitcoin."

I love cash, what is the future of cash? 10, 15, 20 years from now no one will be accepting cash?

"It's possible, already when you go on the airlines today, I just went on a flight yesterday they will not take cash, they just do not. They'll only take debit and credit cards. In the future they'll take Bitcoin."

After Ethan insisted that Jordan answer a personal financial questions for him, we let Jordan go for the day but not before he insisted several times that I purchase a Bitcoin wallet for my wife so I'm going to do that tonight.
