Bethel Medical Marijuana Facility Expanding With Danbury Location
A medical marijuana dispensary in Bethel, one of only 18 here in the state of Connecticut, has just announced that they are expanding to a second location, and this new one will be opening on Mill Plain Road in Danbury.
According to an article from the New Haven Register, D&B Wellness - Compassionate Care Center of Connecticut, now located at 4 Garrella Road in Bethel, will soon take over a vacant building located at 105 Mill Plain Road in Danbury.
According to the article, the move was unanimously approved by Danbury's Planning Commission on Wednesday, March, 3, 2021. Interior renovation can now begin, which I can personally tell you from being inside Massachusetts marijuana dispensaries, will be extensive. The building used to be a bank, and that's good news because obviously the walls have already been fortified. Millions of dollars in security equipment, secure areas for the valuable product, and employee areas all have to be bought and built out over the next few months. News broke just the other night about Connecticut's new deal to allow legalized sports gambling at the Mohegan Sun Casino, which will also allow for online gambling too. As part of the deal that Connecticut brokered with the Mohegan Tribe, 15 Connecticut Lottery retail sports betting locations will be opened around the state. If this kind of deal can be brokered to allow the vice of gambling, it's possible for Connecticut to also fast track the legalization of marijuana for adult use.
