There is No Way There are 29 States Better Than Connecticut!
Consumer Affairs just released the results of a study comparing all 50 states and Washington D.C. to find the best states in the nation to move to. They looked at things like safety, health, education, quality of life and the economy to reach their conclusions. These are some of the things they found.
Best States to Move To:
1. Utah
2. New Hampshire
3. Idaho
4. Minnesota
5. Massachusetts
6. Maine
7. North Dakota
8. Pennsylvania
9. Iowa
10. South Dakota
Worst States to Move To:
1. California
2. New Mexico
3. Texas
4. Louisiana
5. Alaska
6. Washington
7. Oklahoma
8. Washington, D.C.
9. Oregon
10. Mississippi
Connecticut ranked #30, so poorly that they did not even bother putting us on the main list. I had to click a link that took me to an Excel spreadsheet to see our position.
#1 - I hate Excel.
#2 - Who the hell publishes an article ranking the 50 states where you have to click into an Excel spreadsheet to see how your state did? Why don't they just fax the results to each individual reader?
That is amateur-hour, the whole study is poppycock! Are there a handful of states that might better than Connecticut? I'd let someone argue that there are maybe four or five but 29!? This is not possible and I demand an independent third-party review of this "study."
Other Study Takeaways:
- Only two Western states make the top 10 best to move to — but they happen to be ranked first and third on the list.
- Utah is the best state to move to, according to our rankings. It finished first in affordability, third in economy and third in quality of life.
- California’s poor scores in education and health, quality of life, and safety make it the worst state to move to, our research suggests.
