Beloved Newtown Police Dog Passes After Battle With Rare Cancer

Sad news to report, as Newtown's Saint Michael has reached the end of watch.

I wrote about the Newtown Police Department's beloved police dog, Saint Michael, and his battle with a rare form of cancer not long ago. April 16, to be exact. A GoFundMe page was set up to help pay for treatment to save Saint, who was just four years old.

After a brave but short fight, this was recently posted on the Facebook page for the Newtown Police Department:

Prayers to the department as well as the entire community. The value of these fantastic animals is limitless. While nothing can bring back Saint Michael, hopefully the Newtown Police Department can find another wonderful K9 soon.
