Arrest Made In Connection With Connecticut Teen Homicide
An arrest has been made in connection with the recent homicide of a Connecticut teen.
On May 3, a 17-year-old Wallingford teen’s body was found in Community Lake behind a senior center after he had been missing since April 25.
Our recent article explained that a couple who was kayaking spotted Nolvin Diaz's body partially submerged in the lake, and police were looking for any suspect who could have been involved.
As of Tuesday, May 12, Wallingford police announced that a family member of the teen has been arrested in connection with the homicide investigation.
According to WFSB, police arrested David Diaz Perez, the uncle of Nolvin Diaz, in connection with his murder. Police say that Perez admitted to killing his nephew.
The motive remains unclear. "He ended up killing Nolvin Diaz down around Community Lake. He stated that this happened on April 23, the day Diaz went missing. David then went back on May 2nd and dragged the body into the water." said Lt. Cheryl Bradley from Wallingford Police in an interview.
The medical examiner ruled the death as a homicide, caused by blunt injury to the head, sharp force injury to the face, and strangulation.
Anyone with any information regarding this situation is asked to contact Wallingford Police at 203-294-2800.
